Who’s behind Anthology for Books?
Hi! We’re Beth & Jim Nyland, Geneseo residents who love living in this welcoming community, connecting people, and sharing stories.
Together, we are:
- voracious readers with eclectic tastes
- friendly conversationalists who love to laugh
- travelers who seek out bookstores in every town
- insatiable learners with so many hobbies
- business professionals skilled in communication, customer service, flexibility, ingenuity, communication, and community-building
- parents of 6 incredible adults (we’ve read a LOT of bedtime stories)
- eager to meet you!
Beth was born and raised in Geneseo and enjoys strong roots and ties in the community. After 30-some years away, she’s thrilled to be home, right where she belongs.
As an entrepreneur and communication consultant, she guides leaders and businesses to find and tell their stories.
Now, she’s excited to share this expertise in her hometown. Through Anthology, she’s eager to curate a collection of books and events that will stoke conversations, spark curiosity, and stimulate creativity.
Jim grew up on Chicago’s south side, made a career and life in the western suburbs, and spent more than 35 years leading sales teams in the food industry.
When the last of 6 kids finished high school, Jim’s casual web search turned up a beautiful Victorian for sale in Geneseo, just footsteps from the historic downtown. He convinced Beth it was time to relocate.
Turns out, Jim feels most at home in a small, rural town. He wants every guest to find that same sense of welcome and comfort at Anthology.
